Health, Safety, and Accommodations

Our priority for the SciPy community is to create a safe and accessible conference environment that invites people from all backgrounds to participate. If you have any questions about conference accommodations or accessibility, please email us at [email protected]. Available accommodations will include quiet spaces, prayer rooms, and nursing rooms, but please reach out with particular needs.

MASKS

While we will not require attendees to wear a mask, we encourage everyone to wear one to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and other illnesses. We do require all attendees to respect the decision of those who choose to wear a mask. There will be free masks available at the registration desk.

ATTENDANCE

Individuals should not attend the event if they are feeling sick, COVID-positive, or exhibiting COVID or flu-like symptoms. If you are exhibiting symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 prior to the start of the conference or on any day of the conference, please email us at [email protected], and we will exchange your ticket for an online one or grant a refund.

ONLINE PARTICIPATION

Each keynote, talk, and lightning talk will be streamed live during the conference and available for playback shortly after the session. If you are unable or feel uncomfortable participating in person, we encourage you to consider buying an online conference ticket. Online participants will also receive access to the conference slack space, posters, and online-specific events for networking.

We will also offer in-person attendees the opportunity to participate online. If you are feeling sick or exhibiting symptoms during the event, please do not attend in person and instead consider participating online.
